Tracker with or without a subscription: what it really means
“No subscription” usually means one of these four things:
- You pay for the SIM. The device has no subscription, but it needs a SIM with credit or a data plan that you buy separately from your network.
- You pay per SMS. Every position request is a text message your network charges you for.
- It is Bluetooth. There is no subscription because there is no SIM: and no real time either.
- Some time included. The device comes with a few months or a year of service, and then you have to pay to keep using it.
Any tracker that sends its position in real time needs mobile data and a server that stores and shows it. Someone pays for that: you directly, or the manufacturer in exchange for a subscription.
With findCar the subscription is the plan: it includes the 4G SIM, flat-rate data, the platform, the route history for the last year and the app. No commitment: you pay for the period you choose and cancel whenever you like. From 3,99 € a month with the 2-year plan.
